|December 8, 2011 - monterey media is thrilled to congratulate Guy Maddin as his newest film "Keyhole" was among the Top 10 best Canadian feature films unveiled by TIFF. Canada's Top Ten celebrates excellence in Canadian cinema and raises public awareness of Canadian achievements in film. monterey media, who hold all U.S. rights to acclaimed film director Guy Maddin's "Keyhole" starring Jason Patric (Narc, The Lost Boys, Sleepers), Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet, Death Becomes Her) and Udo Kier (Blade, Shadow of the Vampire) plans to launch the film theatrically March 2012.
"Our excitement that Guy's film continues to garner these exciting and well-deserved accolades is only heightened by our having the honor of bringing his always unique and awe inspiring vision to American audiences in our upcoming release of Keyhole."
states Scott Mansfield, CEO of monterey media
In a house haunted with memories, gangster and father Ulysses Pick (Jason Patric) arrives home after a long absence towing the body of a teenaged girl and a bound and gagged young man. His gang waits inside his house, having shot their way past police. There is friction in the ranks. Ulysses, however, is focused on one thing: journeying through the house, room by room, and reaching his wife Hyacinth (Isabella Rossellini) in her bedroom upstairs. His odyssey eventually becomes an emotional tour, as the strange nooks and crannies of the house reveal more about the mysterious Pick family.
"Keyhole" is directed by Guy Maddin and written by George Toles and Maddin. Executive Producer is Phyllis Laing. Producers are Jody Shapiro and Jean du Toit. The film is a Buffalo Gal Pictures and Cinema Atelier Tovar production.
